Now Detroit and area residents can hop on a bus and take a 5-hour tour to one or more of the local Detroit casinos.  All the casinos have a group tour office that allows for group visits.  Various group tours have been arranged to pick up residents in nearby towns like Ann Arbor, Brighton, Detroit, Hamtramck, Livonia, Pontiac, Roseville, Southfield, Taylor and Westland, and deliver them to MotorCity Casino or MGM Grand Detroit.  Their 5-hour tour includes a free gourmet buffet lunch, valued at, at least, $15.  Buses pick up their casino guests in the morning, and return them in the afternoon.

Cost for the tour is usually very minimal ($4 or $5), but you're a captive audience and must stay at the casino for a minimum of 5 hours to quality for that free all-you-can-eat lunch (however, part of that time you're eating).  The casinos hope you'll enjoy your stay, win or lose, and leave with a full feeling in your stomach.   It's a great deal if you like gourmet food and the buffets offered by both MGM and MotorCity.  Even if you lose some money, you'll still leave happy, especially if you've spent some time at the dessert station (they're unbelievable).

If you enjoy spending a morning at the casino playing some slots and blackjack, and then ending your stay with a satisfying lunch, you can't go wrong with an occasional bus tour to the Detroit casinos.
