MGM Grand Detroit
MGM Grand Detroit has two new promotions that could make you richer from now until February 28, 2001. You can win a Chrysler PT Cruiser while you're playing their "Wheel to Wheel" progressive slots.
The second promotion is The Ultimate Grand Getaway. The Grand Prize is your choice of either 1 Million Northwest Airlines World Perks Bonus Miles or $20,000 cash. Daily prizes are drawn at Noon, 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., and include your choice of a $250 gift certificate for travel with MLT Vacations, 12,500 Northwest Airlines World Perks bonus miles or $250 cash. A weekly drawing, is held every Wednesday for a trip to one of the following destinations: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi, Cancun, Mexico, the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas and Waikiki, Hawaii. MotorCity Casino
MotorCity Casino "Winning Wheels Promotion" began on December 15, 2000, and continues until further notice. It's a 24 hour, 7 days a week $1 slot machine promotion on the second floor of the casino, near the west sky walk bridge entrance (from the parking structure), surrounding the classic car. Randomly selected winners will receive a refurbished classic car and $20,000 in cash. MotorCity is using a computerized time-based slot bonus system to pick the winners. Only selected $1 slot machines surrounding the classic car display are eligible to win. You don't have to be a member of Club Metro, or need special coin or reel combinations to win. If you're playing, you can get picked randomly. Another perk, this one for Club Metro members, is the free shuttle transportation to and from Joe Louis Arena for all hockey home games.
Casino Windsor
Casino Windsor, in Canada, just across the Detroit River, is sponsoring the "Music Through the Ages" Slot Tournament Series with more than $370,000 prizes in six tournaments, through November 2001. Each tournament will have 45 prizes, with $20,000 (Canadian) for the first place winner down to $330 for lowest scoring player. To participate, you must pay a $330 entry fee , Canadian, or $225 US. The first tournament, called "The Roaring 20's", will be held on January 24, 2001. It's a one-day tournament in two sessions with each player allowed 250 spins per session. Round 1 is played from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and round 2 is played from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Each entrant is given two $15 meal certificates.
